Part of a limited series of seven 'V8 Racing Edition' models commissioned by a VIP Aston Martin customer. Each car in this exclusive collection features unique livery and sill plates engraved with 'V8 Vantage Race Collection 007 of 007', celebrating Aston Martin's illustrious racing heritage. This particular car showcases the vibrant "Rose" livery, Rose was the name given to the yellow car Aston Martin built to enter the 2006 Nürburgring 24h race (plus other subsequent races), with Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez leading the driving lineup. The distinctive car was placed 24th overall from a field of over 200 starters.
Unparalleled Design and Performance
The V8 Vantage, introduced in 2006 and unveiled at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show, is a marvel of automotive engineering. This all-new model features a 4.3-litre quad-cam V8 engine inspired by Jaguar's 'AJ' unit, with Aston Martin's own enhancements, including dry-sump lubrication. This allows the engine to be mounted low in the bonded aluminium body/chassis, enhancing handling and achieving an optimal 49/51 front/rear weight distribution.
Built at Aston Martin's state-of-the-art Gaydon facility in Warwickshire, the Vantage combines bespoke hand-crafted quality with advanced technology. This two-seater coupe offers exquisite design, class-leading agility, and performance, along with practical features like a 300-litre rear luggage compartment and numerous passive and active safety systems.
Upgraded Features and Specifications
In May 2008, Aston Martin introduced significant upgrades to the Vantage, including a more powerful 4.7-litre engine producing 420bhp and 347lb/ft of torque, a 15% increase over the previous model. The updates also included new software for the 'Sportshift' automated manual transmission and stiffer suspension with Bilstein dampers. The enhanced performance reduces the 0-60mph time to 4.7 seconds, with a top speed of 180mph.
